Maces weren't used by the Roman military very often as they had strong armours. However the roman civilians used them to fight after games (roman cities had their equivalent of today's football "firms". For a very interesting example see the Pompeii vs Nuceria in 59BC event); or for electoral "motivation" purposes...

Les masses n'étaient pas souvent utilisées par les militaires romains car leurs armures étaient très solides, en revanche elles étaient favorites des civiles, comme par exemple chez les "clubs de supporters" de l'époque (voir les événements  suite aux jeux entre Pompeii et Nuceria en 59 avant)
